About Smoothbrownskin
First I would like to welcome you, my name is Lakesha, typically my friends and family call me Kesha but you know me as Smoothbrownskin. I call myself smoothbrownskin because I have embraced my looks as an African American woman. I wear my Natural hair and I love it and that is just the mere essence of who I am as a woman. I am also a  wife, a mother, a freelance writer, and the sole Creator of SBS Natural Hair Care Line Products. Society tends to be critical about women and our looks. By embracing how I look, I feel emprowered to share myself with society.

I am originally from Alexandria, Virginia. I graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am the oldest of 9 siblings and I am the first and only child in my mothers household to attend college. I am proud of this acheivement but I am humbled by the opportunity. 

I have been married since 2005 and I believe my husband is my soul-mate. We have three beautiful children a son and two daughters. We couldn't be more blessed with our family.

I approach topics from a woman's perspective with the attempt to break society stigmas of mothers, wives and most importantly African American Women and our hair!


I enjoy reading, writing, doing hair, listening to music, exercise, spending time with my family and friends and of course surfing the internet.
